About me

So happy that you have found my website!

On Lifestyle2go.com I share through weekly blogs, all my personal findings in the field of Lifestyle, which are life-enriching.

For years people have been picking my brains for tips on travel, fashion, interior, recipes, beauty, events and much more.

My creativity is partly due to the many worldwide travels I've made and the different countries and places where I have lived as a child with my parents, alone and with my family.

My work as an interior designer is something I have inherited from home. My mother was always busy with decorating and changing our interior. Subconsciously, I took the habit on as a child and made sure my room was always contemporary with a personal warm touch.

Since then I have assisted many projects, or with complete renovations, or with the intervention of the whole device with my company: MOS interiors.

As an interior specialist and editor of a lifestyle magazine, all wonderful places in the world that I have visited as well as the many people I meet on my path, have inspired me in my sense of color, space and insights into trends.

I am also very privileged to be allowed to live in an inspiring piece of world heritage: our own capital 'Amsterdam'.

Let me and my guest bloggers take you to the beautiful things in life and especially do not hesitate to provide us with your comments at the bottom of each blog-posts or on the Facebook page of Lifestyle2go.

Enjoy reading and viewing with pleasure!

Maastricht/ Bistro Boeuf La Roche
Posted on: 29 october 2012 Posted by: Kitty

Well then, since we're in Maastricht, why not have dinner at this new Bistro run by dear friends Bart & Sandra. It's located directly next to their other restaurant, Tout à Fait. In very intimate and relaxed surroundings we enjoyed the freshest of oysters. Having said that, those homemade ...

Maastricht/ Le Salonard
Posted on: 26 october 2012 Posted by: Kitty

Artisanal bread made with leaven and organic grain can be found at Le Salonard. They have two shops in Maastricht and one in Amsterdam. Their various types of jam (especially the fig one!), cheeses, oils, cakes and cookies are all equally yummy. I should know - I've tasted them all. That slice of fig/nut bread with a bit of old cheese really made my day.

Max Maastricht
Posted on: 26 october 2012 Posted by: Kitty

Whenever I'm in Maastricht I tend to pay a visit - preferably ASAP :) - to the marvellous Max store. Located in the city's cosiest neighbourhood, the 'Quartier Latin', it offers a great collection in a stylishly decorated environment. Featured brands include Tara Jarmon, Hale Bob, Moncler and Antik Batik.

Maastricht/ Au Lion d'Or B&B
Posted on: 26 october 2012 Posted by: Kitty

In one of Maastricht's oldest and most charming streets, in a magnificently restored 18th century building, you'll find this superb B&B run by enthusiastic hostess Lot. This time I stayed with husband and kids on the top floor, which - with two bedrooms and a spacious bathroom - allowed us plenty of privacy.

Maastricht/ Philippe Kersten
Posted on: 26 october 2012 Posted by: Kitty

In Maastricht I fell head over heels in love with the Oriental antique sculptures and earthenware objects in Philippe Kersten's gallery. Having spotted Philippe before at Tefaf, I was again awestruck by the decorative allure of the objects on display in his gallery.   Philippe Kersten Cortenstraat ...

Dining out at Dorset in Borne
Posted on: 26 october 2012 Posted by: Madelon

After a divine dinner with our family at my partners and her husbands restaurant in the east of holland, Dorset, we of course had to be captured for a fashion moment. That called for a lot of responses on our Facebook page, where a lot of people asked us about what we were wearing that evening. So ...

South of France/ Cannes
Posted on: 19 october 2012 Posted by: Madelon

The south of France is always a delightful escape for a weekend if you are looking for a place with nice weather and short flying time. KLM and Transavia have a few flights daily from Schiphol airport. From Nice airport you will be in the centre of Cannes in 20  minutes, which is the absolute shop Mekka in the world as far as we are concerned.

Searching for a lovely hotel in the hinterland of Cannes but still a 20 minutes drive from Nice airport? Then you will find nearby Valbonne, just above Cannes and also near the beautiful town of Mougin, Hotel Des Mougins. An ideally location for a romantic hideaway, but also to explore the South of France, Monaco, and parts of the Italian floral Riviera.

Tara Jarmon, a lasting hit if you're into sexy, comfortable and stylish is French fashion label Tara Jarmon. As French as French gets, this is truly something for the Jackie K's and Audrey Hepburns among us. The brand prefers to show its collections in an ambiance of pastels en powder hues. This ...

When it comes to shopping for clothes in Cannes, one of our firm and all-time favorites is the store run by the French brand Maje. The people behind Maje create delightful fashion; elegantly cut, classic, yet with a very contemporary touch of flair. Superb materials and colors. Basic with a feminine twist.

La Maison de Charrier, the original interior decoration store as only found in the Provence! Perfectly matches the romantic atmosphere of Valbonne. Lots of linen in ton sur ton aubergine, beige, and taupe. Antique furniture, brocante and authentic French crockery and china. But also awesome art objects and splendid chandeliers.

Long live Zara!! So we woke up and found ourselves wearing the same pants! We both love clothes, but no human being could do without a piece of Zara combined with an other label.  Fortunately you will find 2 Zara's in Cannes on the rue d'Antibes.   Kitty

South of France/ Valbonne
Posted on: 19 october 2012 Posted by: Madelon

Valbonne is a very popular town. Not only with the French but also with Dutch and English people. Many expats reside there. What is so handy is that Nice airport is just 20 minutes away, but the Provence feeling flourishes here. You will find a lot of galleries and the cutest shops in fashion, interior, jewelry, toys, to many to mention.

This shop has very distinct clothing, many Scandinavian brands, but also other delightful labels. The owner and his wife are both Scandinavian and very friendly and good sales persons. You hardly ever leave the shop empty handed. Their brands include: Hotel Particulier, Pierre Balmain, Rika, Noir, Golden Goose and a lot more.

Who is sweet, deserves goodies. And occasionally one needs to sin. This very American-style delicacies shop, has a huge selection of ice cream, but also cupcakes, hotdogs, donuts, cookies to much to mention. And if you do not want to go beyond yourself to a total calorie bomb, try a soy ice cream or milkshake or 1 of their sorbets.

These boots are made for walking. A walhalla among the movie stars who visit Cannes during the film festival. Once in a while they close the shop for a celebrity like Eva longoria, who then has a very personal and private shopping spree.  The shop owner, who at the time had to flee from Persia ...

In Cannes you'll obviously find lots of restaurants, clubs where you can dine and beach places to have lunch. But more about that during the sunny season of 2013. For now i would like to give you a place for lunch where you are able to eat a healthy meal and relax from shopping during lunch hours, because a lot of shops are closed then.

When the children were very small we already visited this place often for a pizza or a pasta. There is always a very cosy typical French atmosphere, but the crowd is a mix of French and other European people staying in the neighborhood. Children run around the square and are being entertained by the balloon salespersons who sell all sorts of funny lights in the evening.

Cosy cupboard

With little effort and very low recourses, you are able to create a cosy and handy cupboard. Like this one made of stacked wooden crates. Most certainly cleans up loads of mess still lying around the house!

Nouba
Posted on: 12 october 2012 Posted by: Madelon

After trying all brands in the world of eyeliners, there is one conclusion to be made: just NOUBA turned out to be the absolute champion! This one stays put all day and night is necessary. Every other brand disappears, especially at our age when your eyelids start to hang over :-(  slightly. The ...

RAINARAI
Posted on: 12 october 2012 Posted by: Madelon

Actually I only learnt cooking when I left home, barely 18. Before that it never had my interest and I was probably very occupied with matters in a adolescent life. I started by buying myself a cookbook and went to the battle. For years I treated friends at home with dinner parties and so my cookbook collection grew rapidly.

The Harbour Club, Amsterdam
Posted on: 05 october 2012 Posted by: Kitty

Last Sunday my family and me enjoyed a lovely lunch at the Amsterdam Harbour Club. Great atmosphere, and such a magnificently impressive building! The location is great, right there on the waterfront. What struck me, however, was the massive amount of staff that somehow seemed new to working as a team.

Sculptures from Mongolia
Posted on: 05 october 2012 Posted by: Kitty

Natural materials are just what it takes to envelop your home in a warm and authentic atmosphere. These two little old sculptures from Mongolia never grow tiresome, especially when put in different spots from time to time. A wide variety of similar interior objects can be found at DK Home.

Weekendtrip London
Posted on: 05 october 2012 Posted by: Madelon

We are so lucky to live so closely to Schiphol airport and to be able to land in London in such a short period of time. I have been so fortunate to visit London very often but never get bored by this city. Each time I try out a new hotel in a new area. This time it was the neighborhood Kensington, between Chelsea and Hyde park and straight across South Kensington Station.
