About me

So happy that you have found my website!

On Lifestyle2go.com I share through weekly blogs, all my personal findings in the field of Lifestyle, which are life-enriching.

For years people have been picking my brains for tips on travel, fashion, interior, recipes, beauty, events and much more.

My creativity is partly due to the many worldwide travels I've made and the different countries and places where I have lived as a child with my parents, alone and with my family.

My work as an interior designer is something I have inherited from home. My mother was always busy with decorating and changing our interior. Subconsciously, I took the habit on as a child and made sure my room was always contemporary with a personal warm touch.

Since then I have assisted many projects, or with complete renovations, or with the intervention of the whole device with my company: MOS interiors.

As an interior specialist and editor of a lifestyle magazine, all wonderful places in the world that I have visited as well as the many people I meet on my path, have inspired me in my sense of color, space and insights into trends.

I am also very privileged to be allowed to live in an inspiring piece of world heritage: our own capital 'Amsterdam'.

Let me and my guest bloggers take you to the beautiful things in life and especially do not hesitate to provide us with your comments at the bottom of each blog-posts or on the Facebook page of Lifestyle2go.

Enjoy reading and viewing with pleasure!

Belgian touch
Posted on: 27 february 2013 Posted by: Kitty

The elegant and original jewellery by Belgian ladies Wouters & Hendrix is gorgeous. Even The Netherlands fell for their designs and I know exactly why. Their presentation is one of a kind: designs displayed in cigar-boxes and on old pictures of former top-models. Especially for Belgian (bag)label Delvaux, Wouters & Hendrix designed a golden bracelet named ‘Embrace’.

Tied to a lace

Are you averse to an engagement- or wedding ring or a sparkling diamond for the births of your children, then you might like these dolls from Italy as a sturdy alternative. These plates come in different forms. In silver, yellow gold and rose and you can have them engraved with the names of your beloved one(s).

Mood board
Posted on: 22 february 2013 Posted by: Kitty

Every creative mind needs a mood board. It’s so inspiring to collect one's ideas on a neat board. You can use your mood board in many different ways. I once had an antique frame covered with cork. It's been hanging in my kitchen for ages, peppered with dear pictures of family and friends; decorative and functional at the same time.

New York The James Hotel
Posted on: 22 february 2013 Posted by: Madelon

Like you could read in number 2 of the Dutch glossy 'Gooisch...als lifestyle in heel Nederland', I just love New York and that is why I like to share our coolest spots in The Big Apple with you. The James is one of our latest discovered favorite boutique hotels. Ideal for it's location in one of the nicest districts: Soho.

Green - greener - greenest
Posted on: 21 february 2013 Posted by: Kitty

What to say bout green, that most refined of colours? It rejuvenates, brightens up and flatters! And all those lovely shades of green make perfect combos. Green will be all the rage this upcoming spring... I can't wait!

Sloshing armpits

Sometimes it's difficult to approach someone about it. In life you will always meet people who either don't use any or don't use the right deodorant. They maybe don't realize it themselves at all, but they would be helped so much if their environment would tell them. And now let that part be quite hard for everyone.

The color green stands for peace and hope. But is also the symbol of environmental movements. That is why in our society green is an important color. And, coincidentally, I do love clothes in all shades of green.   Jacket: Liu-Jo jeans Blouse: Zara Trousers: Current Elliott

Veggies, veggies and even more veggies! I’m crazy about this book with yummy veggie recipes. Although I haven’t tried many yet. But hey, what do you expect, having a dozen cooks nearby. Until now the green pancakes with lime butter and the marinated buffalo mozzarella with tomatoes are my favourites.

Warm feet
Posted on: 15 february 2013 Posted by: Madelon

For years stylists, trend watchers, personal shoppers and other self-respected fashion guru's try to ban the Uggs to the pyre. And every year, as soon as it gets colder, you see the streets filled with these 'monstrous' Uggs in all sorts and colors. And unfortunately I can't do without them either, with my everlasting frozen feet.

Moschino gave a fashionable twist to the Philippe Starck chairs by Kartell, resulting in the Mademoiselle. This furniture is like a breeze of fresh air and very feminine. It provides Kartell’s business line with a subtle touch.

Like my true love that I feel for India, I feel the same for a lot of African countries.  You can see that in my interiors. I always tend to drag along suitcases of local fabrics, (antique) jewelry and special sculptures. And I have an affection for the zebra. He belongs to the family of Equidae, like horses and donkeys, only the zebra is not to be tamed.

Valentines' crockery
Posted on: 13 february 2013 Posted by: Madelon

The love of a man goes through his stomach. If you want to surprise your husband with a dinner for two on Valentines' day, a romantic crockery should not be missed. I started searching for one that should also be very payable. To my surprise I found one that is produced in the 'land' of my dearest business partner: Twente, the eastern part of The Netherlands.

The red shoes
Posted on: 13 february 2013 Posted by: Madelon

Dancing the night away at Valentines' night with your lover on these irresistible red shoes. All studies have repeatedly shown that men really get excited most by the color red on a woman. But watch out with little red dancing shoes....they take you places you might not want to end up! Shoes by Oscar de la Renta.

Chocolate love
Posted on: 13 february 2013 Posted by: Madelon

A woman is ever to seduce with chocolate.  And in Amsterdam we are blessed with a whole lot of famous pastry shops/patisseries and chocolate stores. One of them is the more then hundred years established van Avezaath and Beune in Amsterdam South. Upon entry you will be greeted by the most delicious aromas of chocolate and mouthwatering cakes and biscuits.

Classic beauty: Liberty
Posted on: 12 february 2013 Posted by: Kitty

I’m so glad I can still dress my little girl in those lovely flowery designs by Liberty London – without her making too much of a fuss about it! Founded in 1875, Liberty is still a popular brand. This must have something to do with the connection with famous designers and labels like Vivienne Westwood, Manolo Blahnik and Aigle.

Steam in a jar
Posted on: 12 february 2013 Posted by: Kitty

Steam cream is finally available in The Netherlands. I know this product has been totally hot in the UK and Japan for a while, but in our country it’s a regular novelty. The secret behind this cream is … steam. Natural ingredients like almond oil, jojoba, orange flower and cocoa butter are fused together under steam pressure.

Life and a happy death
Posted on: 08 february 2013 Posted by: Madelon

Nothing belongs more to life then death. In all countries that I visit, I am intrigued by how people deal with their deceased ones and their burials. In many countries it is a far more happier occasion then in our country. This is because on this day they celebrate your life and mostly they believe that life hereafter will be (even) better then your last.

Wildlife Photographer of the Year
Posted on: 08 february 2013 Posted by: Kitty

I have always loved watching beautiful wildlife pictures. During my London years I visited every annual exhibition of the Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition. In 2012 this prestigious international photography contest was organised for the 48th time by BBC Wildlife Magazine and the London Museum of Natural History.

Do you rather wrap up under a blanket with a good book on Valentine's Day? Order now 'Het Liefdesdagboek', a lovely book written by Geert Kimpen and Christine Pannebakker. A shameless, honest story about an unfolding love between two very different people. She, a very successful single woman with a lot of admirers and he, a suicidal theatre director.

Stock days Arnhem
Posted on: 01 february 2013 Posted by: Kitty

With the Amsterdam Fashion Week absorbing everybody’s attention you'd almost forget there’s more fashion going on in winter white Holland. I for one have every intention of visiting the Arnhem Stock Days (January 31-February 3). Located in the east of The Netherlands, not far from the German ...
