About me

So happy that you have found my website!

On Lifestyle2go.com I share through weekly blogs, all my personal findings in the field of Lifestyle, which are life-enriching.

For years people have been picking my brains for tips on travel, fashion, interior, recipes, beauty, events and much more.

My creativity is partly due to the many worldwide travels I've made and the different countries and places where I have lived as a child with my parents, alone and with my family.

My work as an interior designer is something I have inherited from home. My mother was always busy with decorating and changing our interior. Subconsciously, I took the habit on as a child and made sure my room was always contemporary with a personal warm touch.

Since then I have assisted many projects, or with complete renovations, or with the intervention of the whole device with my company: MOS interiors.

As an interior specialist and editor of a lifestyle magazine, all wonderful places in the world that I have visited as well as the many people I meet on my path, have inspired me in my sense of color, space and insights into trends.

I am also very privileged to be allowed to live in an inspiring piece of world heritage: our own capital 'Amsterdam'.

Let me and my guest bloggers take you to the beautiful things in life and especially do not hesitate to provide us with your comments at the bottom of each blog-posts or on the Facebook page of Lifestyle2go.

Enjoy reading and viewing with pleasure!

They were an instant hit at the annual designer exhibition Salone del Mobile in Milan: the outdoor furniture made out of recycled materials by Dedon. It’s never easy to find practical and elegant outdoor furniture, but ...

Tied to a lace- part II
Posted on: 29 july 2013 Posted by: Berine

Earlier on my mum already wrote about these cuties on a lace, bracelet (see Lifestyle, February http://bit.ly/1e6iD9L ). Now they’re also sold in a fabric variation in different, summer and winter, fluorescent colours. 4 boys and 3 girls, in between real silver little balls and hearts and 1 cute silver girl.

‘Skulls and vintage’ for the ‘older’ girl
Posted on: 29 july 2013 Posted by: Madelon

Each time I am in doubt if at my age you can follow every fashion trend, like with the skulls; they seem to rule the fashion industry for years. But because of the fact that I secretly, in my own way, adore many of the trends I search for combinations to combine ‘young’ and ‘old(er)’.

one, two, three biscuit
Posted on: 28 july 2013 Posted by: Luisa

This is by far the easiest biscuit recipe in the world to make. Easy to make and easy to remember.   All you need is 1 cup sugar, 2 cups butter, 3 cups flour.   Or…   100g sugar, 200g butter, 300g flour.   You can then add whatever flavours you desire, like Vanilla ...

sturdy beach dudes
Posted on: 28 july 2013 Posted by: Madelon

The popular surf brand Sundek is once again catching a big wave so to speak, since they had lost it’s popularity back in the nineteens’. The brand, which started in 1970 has returned with new designs with their two-ply nylon board shorts with its trademark multi-strip across the seat. Of course this summer they have the fluorescent colors for all the sturdy boys (and girls) and ours.

high wine on the beach
Posted on: 26 july 2013 Posted by: Kitty

Wijnbar aan Zee (Wine bar on the beach) is well-known for its oysters and over 60 wines and champagnes. Create that authentic Ibiza- or South-America vibe in Dutch sea spot Zandvoort. With my feet in the sand, enjoying a wonderful glass of wine and some oysters… ...

kitchen fun
Posted on: 25 july 2013 Posted by: Madelon

Because my style is far from standard and I just love to give every room and home a different atmosphere, I try to give a kitchen something idiosyncratic as well. Of course beautifully done, all those kitchens from famous designers, but very recognizable and impersonal. One way to give your kitchen that special touch is to use wall paper or wall stickers.

High summer High heels
Posted on: 24 july 2013 Posted by: Kitty

This summer shows lots of variation in wedges. That's totally cool with us, since nothing upgrades tiny shorts or a cute summer-dress better than this smashing pair of killer summer-heels. Wedges are so much easier to walk on, no more dead toes and painful and unflattering red welts or (even worse) blisters.

Not just a thriller, but a thrilling story about love
Posted on: 23 july 2013 Posted by: Mirjam

There are some people in this world whom I trust for a 100%, eventhough I know they have a huge imagination. One of those people is the Dutch worldfamous writer Herman Koch. So when I read his words on the cover of this book, I decided to read it instantly.
He calls The Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn a very special thriller, other than others.

Bag in Black
Posted on: 22 july 2013 Posted by: Kitty

I don’t know what it is about women and their bags; no happy life without them, I’d almost say. I own a closet full of bags myself, ranging from It-bags to pieces by Zara and cute ones from the Valbonne market. But my absolute favourite is the black bag. I happen to bump into one of those must haves regularly.

Ibiza; my favorite beach spot
Posted on: 18 july 2013 Posted by: Madelon

Ibiza is to me a wonderful island……in low season. Personally I am not to keen on bumping in to everyone during my holidays and the challenge is to find spots which are not crowded by celebs and unknown people from Holland. One of our favourite spots lies in the north of Ibiza ( where you will definitely find beautiful unspoilt beaches) at Cala San Vincente.

Hire popsicles?!
Posted on: 18 july 2013 Posted by: Berine

That I am writing about ice cream again, certainly doesn’t surprise you anymore, I think. For this blog post there was needed: 2 mini Indo girls, a very hot summer day in The Netherlands, a rocket as the only popsicle to be found, the desire of fresh fruits and a very good idea. With all these ...

lifestyle2go goes france
Posted on: 18 july 2013 Posted by: Madelon

Your Lifestyle2go team was in France for some unforgettable time to spend together with our husbands. In peace we had the time to discus the future of Lifestyle2go, thinks of new topics to blog about and make plans to surprise you with the coming year. And of course apart from work, enjoy the sun, typical French settings and good food.

Dinner at The Food Barn- Noordehoek/South-Africa
Posted on: 15 july 2013 Posted by: Luisa

There are only a few things, that really excite me about having to get through the Winter in Cape Town:

  • The opportunity to wear boots (I have an absolute fetish for boots) and my most favourite of all;
  • Cape Town restaurant’s winter specials.
, situated in the heart of Noordehoek is owned and run by Chef Frank Dangereux.

Prints and colour
Posted on: 15 july 2013 Posted by: Berine

For an evening pizza eating in Valbonne, South of France, you don’t want to dress up too chique nor too simple. Something in between, like a nice blouse, comfortable trousers ( so that the pizza and ice cream as dessert will still fit in;) ) and wedges. Laidback, but thought about. Not too relaxed a la Ibiza, but still with a classy French hint.

Fresh & Fruity
Posted on: 14 july 2013 Posted by: Berine

As I have written before, I’ve got a huge addiction to ice cream.  So summertime is a great time for me. Because it mainly means ice, ice, ice! Although I let myself go a bit before the summer, I do try to eat healthy now again. And so a self made healthy ice pop was and is an absolute must for me.

Home sweet home
Posted on: 13 july 2013 Posted by: Kitty

For many years I’ve been driving over to ‘the west’ (of The Netherlands), often accompanied by my kids or friends, to visit special exhibitions or interesting performances. Although I don’t care about the distance, it’s like life is getting more hectic by the day… resulting in less frequent visits to our capital.

school idylls
Posted on: 13 july 2013 Posted by: Madelon

They are sworn friends from high school. And what makes it so special is the fact that I have been to school with the parents of Maxime, Poms friend. It gives a special bonding. This summer you will find fashion blog posts from our younger girls regularly.   MAXIME: Shorts       ...

Ghanaian fabrics
Posted on: 12 july 2013 Posted by: Madelon

As promised a while ago, I would show you regularly what I have made from the fabrics that I brought back from my travels to Ghana. One of the most beautiful fabrics in Ghana is the brand fabricated in the Netherlands: Vlisco. This company is settled in the south of the Netherlands in Helmond and has a beautiful office just outside of Amsterdam as well.

Anjuna Beach, Eze, Côte d'Azur
Posted on: 11 july 2013 Posted by: Madelon

Always looking for that special beach spot. Two men in our family detest those crowded beaches. They just like the deserted beaches on bounty islands. But it is a hard job in high season, finding a spot like that when you are on holiday in the well-known European countries, such as France. Luckily there is one oasis like that, where our guys love to go to.

Rooftop in NYC
Posted on: 11 july 2013 Posted by: Kitty

Rosemary’s in Greenwich is one of my all-time favourites. The restaurant is picturesque, with folding-doors, a ceiling illuminated by fairy lights and a huge rooftop terrace with a vegetable garden. Of course the visitors are just as fabulous as the restaurant. And on top of that there’s that divine, pure Italian food.

Muesli Must
Posted on: 10 july 2013 Posted by: Berine

Organic, without added flavours or food colouring, with plenty of sugar free options and, if wanted, gluten free. Especially in the summer, when eating healthy is a priority for lots of people for the so-called ‘Bikini Body’, this muesli mixer is perfect. Apart from that it is very delicious it is also extremely healthy.

In summertime I prefer wearing wider clothes made from flexible soft fabrics. In the heat wearing tight clothes is not an option for me. Unfortunately I do not have the age ( nor the legs!) anymore to wear the trendy hot pants/shorts. So I always wear long dresses and skirts and wide pants.   Dress ...

A writer's romance in Cefalu
Posted on: 08 july 2013 Posted by: Mirjam

If you dream of being a writer, or better: a poet, or if you’re just in the mood for some deep romance, you should go to Cefalu. A little Sicilian village built on the foot of a big rock. And in the middle of the tiny houses and streets there is this ‘Duomo’, a twelfth century church built by the Englisch king Roger.

healthy every day
Posted on: 08 july 2013 Posted by: Madelon

When on holiday I would love to eat just twice a day, as I do when I am at home. That causes no problem when I am with the girls, but when the guys are around that is of course not an option. That is why I choose for a healthy solution; a healthy in-between-dish with some extra yummy specialities for the boys, like these Vietnamese shrimp- or vegetable nems with a sweet chilli dip.

Poetic design
Posted on: 06 july 2013 Posted by: Kitty

The felt vases, carafes and candles by Siba Sahabi are astonishingly beautiful. I’ve been told that their magical colours refer to the blue hour of Istanbul: when the sun has set and day melts into night. For every new collection Siba takes inspiration from the past. The Between ...

carpe diem

Since 1985 I am a member of a sorority of a student association. At that time it was great fun (after a long hazing) and the expectation to make friends for life. In practice you will get to know a lot of people and keep a handful of intimate friends. What is solid as a rock, is the connection you feel with all the women in your sorority, young and old.

customized dream shirt
Posted on: 05 july 2013 Posted by: Madelon

Is it difficult for your love to find the right shirt in stores? Is he always looking for a high collar with two buttons or with a double cuff, or rather a button down in a flower print? I tend to be always looking for the perfect white women shirt with a grand collar. Well stop searching everyone.

Teenage fashionista’s
Posted on: 05 july 2013 Posted by: Anne-Marie

My daughter loves fashion. Of course this mummy loves to shop with her dearest daughter but there are (budget) boundaries. In the Netherlands the sale has already started a few weeks ago, but people like us, who live close to the Belgium border, prefer to wait for the “solden”. This is the offical sales period in Belgium.

Stockholm=the place to be
Posted on: 03 july 2013 Posted by: Kitty

Stockholm is amazingly fun, relaxed and green. From now on it will definitively be in my personal top 5 of best cities. We stayed at Nobis Hotel, a nice, attractive design boutique hotel. It’s housed in two stylish 19th century buildings at Norrmalmstorg square, right in the centre of the shopping district.

Bluespoon Restaurant/Andaz Hyatt hotel Amsterdam
Posted on: 01 july 2013 Posted by: Madelon

Despite the difficult financial times, a lot of new grand hotels appear in Amsterdam. So the old library on the Prinsengracht was totally renovated into a design hotel. As part of the Hyatt group The Andaz hotel gives this part of midtown on the canal a lot of style. Marcel Wanders is the one who took the responsibility for the interior design.
