About me

So happy that you have found my website!

On Lifestyle2go.com I share through weekly blogs, all my personal findings in the field of Lifestyle, which are life-enriching.

For years people have been picking my brains for tips on travel, fashion, interior, recipes, beauty, events and much more.

My creativity is partly due to the many worldwide travels I've made and the different countries and places where I have lived as a child with my parents, alone and with my family.

My work as an interior designer is something I have inherited from home. My mother was always busy with decorating and changing our interior. Subconsciously, I took the habit on as a child and made sure my room was always contemporary with a personal warm touch.

Since then I have assisted many projects, or with complete renovations, or with the intervention of the whole device with my company: MOS interiors.

As an interior specialist and editor of a lifestyle magazine, all wonderful places in the world that I have visited as well as the many people I meet on my path, have inspired me in my sense of color, space and insights into trends.

I am also very privileged to be allowed to live in an inspiring piece of world heritage: our own capital 'Amsterdam'.

Let me and my guest bloggers take you to the beautiful things in life and especially do not hesitate to provide us with your comments at the bottom of each blog-posts or on the Facebook page of Lifestyle2go.

Enjoy reading and viewing with pleasure!

An Italian fairy tale
Posted on: 30 september 2013 Posted by: Kitty

During the summer we spent some time in the Abruzzen, one and half hours east and just north of Rome. There in the middle of the Appennines, is Santo Stefano di Sessanio. Sextantio is a gorgeous series of buildings throughout the handsome village, and part of the hip Italian hotel route of idealized glamour and luxury.

Film: Night Train To Lisbon
Posted on: 27 september 2013 Posted by: Madelon

He has been running for some time, now mainly in art house cinemas, but if you have not seen this philosophical thriller yet, then hurry on to the cinema. I was fascinated by the story from the book by Pascal Mercier, with its beautiful images on for me some of my favourite spots in Lisbon. The Swiss ...

Women these days are getting more and more interested in philosophy, because one wants to find out what really makes sense in life. Many books and meetings are about living mindfully of meaningfully. But what does that all mean?
This lovely and yes, difficult originally Sanskrit text is a sage from the Indian Mahabarata-legend, a few thousand years old.

As promised I would get back on the outfit that we had worn during the Raak Amsterdam High Wine fashion show. It was a pleasure to see the other women getting all excited with my skirt and the sleeveless cardigan that Pom worn, both bought at Raak. Many of them informed Jos of Raak if their size was still available at the store.

Café Louter
Posted on: 23 september 2013 Posted by: Madelon

Even though you live in the heart of Amsterdam with its many restaurants, sometimes you feel the urge to cross the boundaries to look for some cosy eateries in an other part of the city. And so we found café Louter in Amsterdam Old West. We had passed the place a lot already on our way to the high way.

lucky shot
Posted on: 22 september 2013 Posted by: Kitty

I discovered the Belgian brand Essentiel Antwerp a few years ago, when I lived in Brussels. And although I don's like every collection, there are still some good items for me between. Two weeks ago, I began to flow a bit, when I saw this fabulous bag. Just the right beautiful red color I was looking for, made from nice and soft leather, and a very nice price.

Floating on the water of the Amsterdam canals as Aladdin on his flying carpet. The most beautiful salon boat in the capitols waters is one with an electronic motor. Therefore it is a very eco friendly and tremendously silent experience. The beautiful wooden ship can accommodate 12 people seated, both inside and outside.

Perfect to move in and especially to dance in!   Dress- ...

Since the movie ‘The Great Gatsby’ has been released, there have been thousands of parties themed as the movie, the roaring twenties. This means classy dresses, pearls, feathers, headbands, sequins, feather boa’s, Charleston heels and much more glitter and glamour, but for us ...

A surprise in Oosterbeek!
Posted on: 17 september 2013 Posted by: Kitty

Last week, I was having a lunch in Oosterbeek, at the invitation of a dear friend. I know Oosterbeek as a charming green village with some nice shops.  But I had never heard of this charming restaurant. In a large white pre-war villa, owner Laurie created her own charming and casual atmosphere.

Today my eldest daughter and I were guests at the exclusive fashion show of Jos van Raak. This time Jos welcomed everyone at the Conservatorium Hotel for an autumn High Wine. Of course your blogger, like always, did not touch any wine, but the 5-course diner was heaven. At every course the models showed us the new autumn-winter collection of Jos’ shop.

My husband and I like to surprise each other with the most beautiful coffee table books. Ideally I would like to display them all on tables and stands so you are able to browse through them regularly. Unfortunately there is never enough space to do so. Therefore one needs to rotate them regularly.  For ...

Take for instance these pants that I have bought this summer at Raak Amsterdam. It wears as pajamas’. Such an easy and comfortable fit.

Real knights in Antibes?
Posted on: 12 september 2013 Posted by: Mirjam

For the ones who consider themselves being real dreamers: In the old town of Antibes one is to expect a real knight on every corner. This Middle Age town in the South of France is inspiring for so many artists, Picasso in the first place. He worked here and the towns castle has become the Picasso museum.

Warhol's Queens
Posted on: 11 september 2013 Posted by: Kitty

Last May a book came out with a new collection of Andy Warhol’s famous portraits. Warhol’s Queens features pictures of female royals, like ‘our’ Beatrix, Caroline of Monaco and queen Sonja of Norway, next to other ‘queens’: those who like to cross-dress.

a copper-bottomed plan
Posted on: 10 september 2013 Posted by: Madelon

When thinking about using brass in your interior, you immediately picture grannie-style interiors with loads of copper kettles and pans or overcrowded pancake restaurants. This is absolutely not necessary. The usage of brass is very trendy nowadays in interior designing.   At home I had one large wall painted with brass looking surfaces, that makes you think the are large copper tiles.

Just to please all our male followers a little bit extra; What is more a dream than a new sports car? Well if the answer would be up to me, I would say: an old sports car. An old-timer has so much more class than the new race monsters you see on the roads. And what about the men driving a new or a vintage car? The last one, mainly, has a lot more class than the first one.

ticket to the tropics
Posted on: 04 september 2013 Posted by: Madelon

The Netherlands keeps us captivated with tropical temperatures. With my partly Indonisian blood pumping through my vains, you make me more than happy with that.   That means we are able to carry on wearing our summer outfits. And with these pants with tropical print, I imagine myself on a tropical island.

royal blue
Posted on: 03 september 2013 Posted by: Kitty

It is not just me who is inspired by the color blue, many artists become fascinated. Delft's (blue) pottery is hip and alive!  Each piece my favorite Dutch Designer Marcel Wanders designs in this serie as a reference to the Golden Age, is beautiful. Many contemporary designers base their designs currently on examples from the past.
